01Who you are contracting with

This store is operated by Montclair Diamonds. We, us and our mean Montclair Diamonds. You means the person browsing the site or placing an order.

02Access to the site

The website is provided as-is and as-available. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

03Diamond grading

Every centre stone is accompanied by a GIA certificate and the grades quoted on the product page reflect that certificate. Grading is an expert opinion within published tolerances, not a measurement with a single correct answer, and a different laboratory may grade marginally differently.

04Carat weight and measurement

Carat figures are nominal and subject to the tolerance stated on the certificate. Millimetre dimensions are given so you can judge visual size, which is a better guide than weight alone.

05Metal and hallmarking

Settings described as 18k white gold are solid 18 carat gold alloy, rhodium finished as standard. Rhodium is a surface plating on white gold across the industry and wears over years; re-plating is routine maintenance and not a fault.

06Photography and colour

Product photography is taken under controlled lighting and magnified well beyond life size so the setting can be seen. Stones will not appear as large or as bright on a hand as they do on a screen, and screen calibration affects metal colour.

07Ring sizing

Rings are made in US sizes 2 to 14 and the size you select is the size we make. It is your responsibility to select it. The complimentary resize exists precisely because that judgement is difficult, and we would rather you use it than guess and settle.

08Engraving

Engraving is performed to the text you supply, exactly as supplied, including any error in it. Engraved rings are made to order and cannot be returned for change of mind.

09Prices and GST

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. We may change prices at any time, but a change after you order does not affect that order.

10Obvious pricing errors

Where a ring is published at a price that is clearly wrong through system or human error, we may cancel the order and refund you rather than supply at that price. We will contact you first.

11When the contract forms

Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when the ring is dispatched, not when the confirmation email is sent. We may decline an order on grounds including availability, a suspected fraudulent transaction, or an address we cannot insure delivery to.

12Payment and verification

Payment is taken at checkout by our payment provider and we do not store card details. On higher-value orders we may ask you to verify your identity or billing address before dispatch, which is a condition of our insurance rather than a judgement about you.

13Risk and title

Risk passes to you when the ring is delivered and signed for. Title passes once payment has cleared in full.

14Valuation and insurance

The compare-at figure shown on a product page is a retail comparison, not a formal valuation, and should not be used for insurance purposes. Arrange an independent valuation if you intend to insure the ring.

15Care and wear

Fine jewellery is not indestructible. Remove rings for manual work, sport, swimming and sleep. Damage arising from impact, chemical exposure or misuse is not a manufacturing fault.

16Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where our liability may lawfully be limited, it is limited to replacing the goods or refunding the price paid, at our election.

17Limits on liability

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including sentimental loss or the cost of a delayed occasion, arising from the sale.

18Our content

The writing, photography and layout on this site belong to Montclair Diamonds or are used under licence. Commercial reproduction requires written consent.

19Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
